Farm Animal
We have 14 dedicated farm vets that work between our 2 centres in Stirling and Lanark who provide a specialised 24 hours service for the farming community in Lanarkshire and Stirlingshire.
Our vets have over 150 years experience between them, and all have an interest in farming to give our clients support with their businesses. Health planning is an important part of farm business efficiency and we are happy to formalise the plan to all recognised industry standards like Red Tractor or SFQC
Our vets are continually improving their knowledge and skills to meet the changing needs of farm business and we have recognised DairyCo advisors in Mastitis and Lameness, and our vets have attended courses in semen sampling and evaluation. We have access to specialised computer software that analyses milk records to aid the identification, and then the solutions to production issues on dairies.
We are pleased to have a tipping crush for trimming feet, and have yet to find a beast too big to get in it! This is especially useful for bulls and we can give them a pre-breeding MOT and fertility exam at the same time.
There is a wide range of professional interests among our team which means that we can always find the “guru” to give the most up-to-date advice on any issue whether sheep or cattle related.
Both of our sites have in-house laboratories that can perform routine tests on blood and dung to support accurate diagnosis on farm.
