Clyde Vet Group Equine Hospital is a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Equine Nurse training Centre.

    Equine Head Nurse

    Branch: Lanark

    qualified in 1998 as a veterinary nurse initially working in Inverness as a small animal nurse before moving in 2001 to Newmarket to work at Rossdale and Partners Equine Hospital where she trained in all aspects of equine nursing.  Her special interests include theatre nursing, intensive care and foal medicine where she was lucky enough to work in the Dr Peter Rossdale intensive care foal unit. 
    Fiona spent most of her chidhood in Lanarkshire and in 2005 returned to Lanark as Equine head nurse for newly formed Clyde Vet Group. Fiona's role has since grown and she now has a team of three other equine nurses. Fiona has become well known across the Scottish equine fraternity and often provides nursing advice to other nurses, vets and horse owners.

    Nursing Assistant

    Emma Joined the team at the Clyde Vet Group in June 2013 as an Equine Groom before taking on a full time role in June 2014 as an Equine Nursing Assistant. She enjoys all aspects of her job but has a particular interest in nursing sick foals, medical cases and Scintigraphy. 
    Emma has owned her own horse "Jess" for the last 16 years who is now retired due to injury, however, she still enjoys spending time pampering and spoiling her. 
    In her spare time she is part of Coltness Car Club and regularly attends rallies as a navigator for another member of the club. She also has a keen interest in Cars and often attends shows all over the country. 

  • Emma Bone

    Nursing Assistant

    After completing a HNC and HND in Equine Management at Oatridge College, Emma travelled to France to work in a private Hunting yard for 6 months before returning to Scotland to work in various different equine establishments such as schooling, livery and teaching. She then returned to France for another season before deciding that equine nursing was what she wanted to do and got a job as a groom in University of Edinburgh (Bush) for 2 years before coming to Clyde Vet Group in November 2015, where she now works as an Equine Nurse Assistant. Emma enjoys all aspects of her job but particularly enjoys Orthopaedic and Medicine cases. 
    Outside of work Emma has her own 3 horses, one of which is her old 14.2hh jumping pony Mickey Finn, she is hoping to back out into the competition circuit and Event her horse. Emma also has a keen interest in working with youngsters, has 2 Pomeranians and a Jack Russell and has been busy renovating a house for the past year. She also competes at National, UK, European and World level at Indoor and Outdoor Tug of War and has just recently won a club gold and country silver with ladies team at the Europeans held in Southport. Next year she is hoping to travel to China in February and South Africa in September for the Worlds.
